A drama activity was organized in order to better explain our project topic, "Basic sciences in every moment of our lives," to the participants and to raise awareness.
First of all, acquaintance activities were held for students from different countries to mingle with each other and get to know each other better. Afterwards, students were asked the first word or phrase that came to mind when they heard the word science and their answers were put on the wall by creating a board. Since the same questions will be asked again at the end of the workshop, it was aimed to see whether the intended purpose of the workshop was achieved or not. Paired improvisations were made by giving dramatic situations regarding their use of basic science courses in daily life, thus aiming to learn by experience. After the double improvisations, group improvisations were made and the students were allowed to talk more about the targeted achievements. Since the 2nd part of the workshop was after the lunch break, lively and appropriate games were played in order to activate the students and prepare their minds for the work they will do. Then, the students were divided into groups and asked to make a poster for the dramatic situations given to each group and to present these posters with an improvisation that they prepared. At the end of the workshop, they were asked to write their thoughts about science and science again for the board that was hung on the wall at the beginning of the workshop, and it was ensured that the changes in their own ideas were observed at the beginning and end of the workshop.
